How NOT to write a cover letter!

Dear Human Resources Staff,

I am interested in exploring career opportunities with [company name] , as noted on [web-site] web-site....I feel my experience is valuable to [company name here]...Please contact me so that we may discuss the [job title here] position.

Sincerely,
[applicant name]

It is one thing to send a formulaic letter...it's quite another to send the fill in the blank version of a letter. plasticann does not recommend this strategy.
