We found a great price on whole vanilla beans at Leroux Kitchen in Portland, ME. I bought a pack for $15 with over 30 whole beans from a San Francisco importer called Saffron. You can also buy them directly from Saffron for even less where they're selling a pound for $19.95, contains 85-100 beans.
